The Wyvern appears to be an upper end hotel. And, it is. But, they also have very reasonably priced accommodations. Very courteous service from all staff members we encountered. The main restaurant and bar are excellent. Great food and service. The rooftop bar is also excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Punta Gorda was such a sleepy fishing town back in the 70’s. Now, it has a hip vibe and a great nightlife. Plenty to do and the Wyvern is within walking distance of many venues.
Opt for an upper floor facing north for a great view.

Very nice hotel in downtown Punta Gorda

I enjoyed a great stay at the Wyvern Hotel. It is convenient to downtown Punta Gorda, parks, and the marina. They have a very nice restaurant on the lobby level and a rooftop bar and pool area with the best views in town. The rooms are large and very attractive and the bathrooms are very nice, with a deep tub and separate shower. There is also a small gym on site. I'll stay here again when visiting friends in Punta Gorda.
