We are Wyndham timeshare owners. This was our first trip here. The positives: clean, spacious 2 bedroom with ocean view and easy access to beach. The negatives: the 3 pools were frigid cold throughout our 7 day stay including the one foot depth kids pool that was in sunshine and yet so cold we could not even sit with our feet submerged. We spoke with many other guests who all agreed with us. The pools were virtually empty throughout the entire day and no wonder. The pools also close at "dusk" 7pm. I've never stayed at a resort with such early pool closings. I guess in December they close at 4pm? After the 4th day, an employee heard us talking about the cold pools with other parents who were unable to use the cold pools and she suggested we go use the pools at one of the other 3 Wyndhams in the area. I wish we had been told this on day one!. So for the last 3 days of our stay, we walked 2 miles one way with 2 toddlers to the Sea Garden (which had 3 pools with perfect temps and hot tubs as well). The other negative was the activities. We showed up for an activity and no staff ever showed up on time. When I asked at desk, we were told it was his break time. Why would he have a break during a scheduled activity? We waited 30 minutes and asked again and was told, "We are trying to locate him." He never showed up after an hour of waiting. The next day we tried another activity with the exact same results! We spoke with several guests, two whom were on an extended 3 week stay, and all reported staff no shows for the scheduled activities. We also tried going to the activity center during open hours of 9-5 and both times doors were locked.Overall, we were really disappointed we chose this resort to stay at with our young grandsons.

For families, this hotel offers a nice beach and two pools. The best time for little kids in the surf is late afternoon, since there is a shallow drop off right off the shore--- and they can play in the shallow water, without getting bowled over by waves. For beach cover, consider renting the umbrellas, which are in the front row, with two lounge chairs. The cabanas are in the back row and are only 4-ft high--- pull out the lounge chairs and just sit on the two chair pads, on the sand.
While there is a 1-ft baby pool, there are two other pools, that do enjoy increased shading, from the hotel, the later you go in the afternoon. While there, say Hello to the (big!) Iguanas and the Macaw (parrot) Sara--- But do Not feed/touch… NOTE: The Tiki Bar opens at Noon and offers music and drinks--- but No Food. Plan ahead or wander directly across the street from the resort, to get some good deli food and snacks.
