In early 2014, the Wyndham Orlando completed a multi-million dollar renovation to create a sophisticated hotel along Orlando’s revitalized International Drive. The hotel features 613 guest rooms in several freestanding buildings on the resort’s sprawling grounds. All rooms have been updated and include 40-inch flat-screen TV’s and MP3 docking stations. Families will love the Florida Fun Suite, which features a special kid-friendly nook just off of the main bedroom that is outfitted with bunk beds, bean bag chair and a wall-mounted TV. Some rooms feature dining areas and refrigerators. Supervised children’s activities, a playground, indoor and outdoor pools, golf, hiking alone nature and trails, and a spa keep visitors entertained. The hotel is 100 percent non-smoking and pet-friendly.

Except for the housekeeping team and one person at the front desk my daughter and I were amazed at how miserable the staff was. We had either fleas or fruit flies in the area between our beds. Our slider did not lock. Our thermostat could not be adjusted so we had to have it on or off. The top layer of the bathtub was chipped and the next layer was showing through. Several towels were stained.

This is the second time we've stayed at this hotel, and it's fine. We booked a room with a King Sized bed. The sheets didn't seem to be big enough as I kept getting tangled up in them during the night. The room itself was a good size and adequate. The wifi was OK, I kept having to reduce the resolution of TV shows to get them to play without stuttering. It's right near International Drive so very close to the sights and attractions available there. Buses are frequent if you want to travel further. The breakfast is OK, a good selection of cooked and continental food at a reasonable price. We thought the cocktails in the hotel lobby bar were really good, especially 'The New Old Fashioned'.
