The Windsor Copa Hotel boasts a convenient downtown location, minutes from the beautiful Copacabana Beach. Guests can catch a cable car to the top of Sugar Loaf Mountain. The mountain juts out into the Atlantic Ocean and offers 360 degree views of the beaches, city lights, and the famous Christ the Redeemer Statue. Sugar Loaf Mountain is surrounded by the Tijuca Rainforest, the world’s largest urban rainforest. Train rides, hiking trails, and guided tours are just a few of the ways to explore the lush, tropical jungle. Waterfall rappelling excursions can be booked, and native marmoset monkeys frequent the jungle paths.

I really loved staying in this hotel. It’s very clean and it gets cleaned every morning. There are fresh towels and fresh sheets. There is a bidet in every room, which is amazing in the hot weather. It’s very close to the sea and to Copacabana beach.
There is good Wi-Fi in the room and in the breakfast room. There is a fridge and minibar in the room. You can leave your luggage there when you go away for a few days.
I’ve got a good rate on the room and we had to pay extra $10 for breakfast but it was worth it. Breakfast is big and fresh and very nice. Omlette, bacon, toasties, waffles, three fresh cakes and a few pastries, four fresh fruit types, cheeses and hams, yoghurts, fruit smoothie, fresh fruit juices, tea and and coffee. Try the herbal boldo tea, it’s nice. If you are jet lagged and hungry by 6am, this is the place for you.
Reception bathrooms were squeaky clean.
Reception staff were great at answering all our questions about trips and visits. For some reason we couldn’t get them to send a toilet brush to our room :).
For a quick dinner on arrival we went to Manuel and Joachim restaurant around the corner on the beach front. Copacabana beach was safe to walk in the early evening, just don’t wear pendants, especially gold ones. After 10pm we were told to take a cab back rather than walk in the neighbourhood. On Thursday night there is a touristy night market along Copacabana. I heard on weekends there is a arty craft market too.
Go to Bip Bip bar for live music.
I really enjoyed staying here.

We stayed here for a few days. Nice hotel, clean and polite staff. The hotel is a short walk away from the famous Copacabana beach and has many shops and restaurants around. We felt quite safe in the neighbourhood.
Breakfast was buffet style, with lots of choices and great coffee.
