Located on the shores of Lake Placid, Wildwood on the Lake offers family-friendly accommodations and amenities in the Adirondacks, close to all of the area’s attractions. In fact, the hotel is only a 5-minute walk to Main Street, where you’ll find an adorable collection of coffee shops, antique stores, restaurants and more. You can also take the hotel’s free shuttle into town.
When you’re not out exploring, float along the lake with one of the hotel’s boats, relax on the hotel’s beach, or enjoy a picnic lunch with the family (grills available). Other perks include an indoor swimming pool, hot tub and sauna.
Complimentary muffins and coffee are served each morning, 8 to 10:30 a.m. You can also prepare breakfast in your room, since some accommodations offer full kitchens. All rooms at the hotel include kitchenettes with mini-fridges, coffeemakers and microwaves, plus free Wi-Fi. Many rooms also have patios or decks.

Absolutely loved this charming motel on the lake.
We had an upstairs room with a view..
Loved the nightly firepit... too chilly to use kayaks or canoes but they were there for use.
The beds weren’t the greatest but everything else was wonderful. Location away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Lake Placid.

We have stayed here several times in the past and recently made a reservation to go back again. At the time I made the reservation I knew my dates were a little sketchy and I was told that as long as I cancelled within 30 days I'd be fine. What I was NOT told was that I would be charged 10% as a 'service fee' for canceling regardless.
I found that out when after a couple of weeks I DID need to cancel and noticed my entire deposit was not refunded. Upon calling I was told that this has been the policy for 30 years and I should have read the fine print in the confirmation. Really? So you took 10% of the money I paid for what ...? Oh, to cover the hassle of putting it in the system and then taking it back out again with plenty of time to rebook. Oh, and the 3% that the credit card company charges (which I know because my business is 100% credit card based).
Very lame. So ... if you're going to book with this place you better be darned sure nothing comes up to change your plans or you'll be throwing money way. Thankfully I only gave a 1-night deposit, not the multi night that they 'suggest'.
