We came all the way from the UK to the white stallion ranch as a family of 4 and loved every minute, it exceeded my expectations in every way.
The ranch is beautiful, our family room was perfect, like a mini house with its own cactus garden out front and patio area with loungers, table and chairs outside, we had humming birds flying around on a couple of occasions. No TV, but good WiFi and a separate twin bedroom for the kids.
The horses are lovely, very well cared for an very well trained. You need to do a slow ride and pass loop test in the arena before you go on a fast ride (which is to canter in a straight line behind a wrangler without falling off and to be able to stop the horse) . My husband has only ever been on a horse a couple of times and was good to go . After the slow ride and a short lesson my 2 boys (10 and 12 ) who had never ridden before were given the go ahead for fast rides. The fast rides and the mountain rides are all fantastic, the beautiful scenery and cantering through the desert is thrilling. All the wranglers are really nice, reassuring, offering riding tips and ready to help in any way to make it a fun experience for the whole family, it’s hard to single out any one of them for praise as they were all great. We really enjoyed the cattle sorting, it gave the kids a chance to get the hang of steering their horses but the team penning was the most fun activity as a family, the horses loved it too and looped down the arena really fast,
We also tried out the ebiking which was great fun, the kids loved trying to get the bikes above 18 mph and we saw a wild rattle snake while we were out! The shooting and archery were also great, George made it really fun and safe for us all to have a try.
Food ay the ranch is plentiful, breakfast cooked to order ( so a soft boiled or poached egg still soft) with some interesting specials as well as egg, bacon, sausage, hash brown, pancakes, French toast etc. Lunch and dinner is buffet style with some really nice choices. The kids and adults all enjoyed the food .
Evening entertainment is available every night, I really liked the critter guy and the astronomers, the singers and the rope man were also excellent fun.
Cant recommend this place enough, 70 % of guests return, we met lots of people who had been before.
