DON’T JUST DRIVE BY THIS PLACE if you’re looking for a place to stay in Cortez!! From the outside it may look like one of the older single-story motels – YET very clean and modern. It’s located just outside of town yet dining and shops are within a quick driving distance. If you are looking for something fancy, this is not the place for you. HOWEVER, if you are looking for a clean, comfortable, and quite room, this is definitely the place. Plus, their rates are very reasonable! The room (we stayed in a king room) had a microwave, coffee pot, hair dryer, and a refrigerator with a small freezer section (imagine that; larger chains don’t). The owners and staff are very friendly and helpful and glad to answer any questions you may have. This is our second time staying here because we remembered how nice it was and had to stop in Cortez for the night. We’d stay here again in a heart beat.

When I am traveling through the country I just have a real problem paying $100 + for one or two nights sleep.
I do appreciate reasonable/affordable rates and clean friendly motels.
I use Trip Advisor frequently but in this case I did not.
While traveling through Cortez, CO and on to the Four Corners and on to southern AZ, we decided to stop and tourv Casa Grande.
We were towing a small trailer with a UTV. We stopped at the Cortez visitors center and inquired about facilites and the White Eagle Inn was one of many they mentioned.
When the said locally owned and operated/clean and fairly priced. We made the decision and drove to the edge of town about 1:30 PM.
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful but of course check in wasn't until 3.
The young lady who was in the midst of preparing rooms for the night, stopped and got me signed in and registered for our room and directed us to a spot where we could drop our trailer and off we went to see what we could of the cliff dwellings.
When we returned we went direct to our room and were we surprised !
It was small in size but it was laid out incredibly well. I have stayed in some much larger rooms and still had to climb over and around a crowded area and still have been without all we had here.
Imagine, King bed with a headboard that contained all of your Elctronic charging ports all in one spot. A round table 2 chairs, desk with chair, Small fridge, microwave, coffee maker, closet area and wall heater that was efficient and quiet. Then the bathroom
top drawer, sink, shower dryer etc.... Excellent and not crowded either.
Now are you ready for this. IT SMELLED CLEAN ! Not sprayed or deoderized, clean and it was clean and sparkling !
Obviously I was impressed and we will return !
