Located just 10 miles from Mount Rushmore, Whispering Winds Cottages is the perfect destination for families looking to enjoy the outdoors and a little bit of history. Families can opt to stay in a cottage or camp in their RV or tent. Most cottages include a small refrigerator, microwave and coffee pot, and guests can park right outside of their cottage.

After you’ve seen Mount Rushmore, head to the nearby Crazy Horse Memorial or Black Hills National Forest, home to continental North America’s tallest peaks east of the Rockies. At the end of your day, enjoy a meal at the picnic area, equipped with grills and a fire pit. Kids will love the playground and game room, complete with a pool table, puzzles and board games.

Great Cottages

We rented 2 cottages at Whispering Winds. It is off season so we chose to call them directly, rather than book on line. I am so glad we did! We received a nice discount and they waved the cleaning deposit. We loved our stay. The cottages were clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly. They answered all questions. Nice and quiet. Lovely location!

Wonderful Week At Whispering Winds RV Site

We stayed here in September in a motohome and really felt welcomed. The staff was super friendly, the grounds impeccably neat and clean and the evening bonfires were a great way to meet other guests from the cottages and the small RV area. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place, in fact we did!
