The Westin Wilmington is located in Wilmington, Delware and overlooks the Christina River. It puts families close to area attractions such as the Delaware Children’s Museum and famous Winterthur Museum. It’s also not far from Longwood Gardens in Pennsylvania (visit at Christmas), as well as Philadelphia. In fact, Philadelphia International Airport is less than 30 minutes away.
Of course, with a name like Westin, you can expect luxurious accommodations and amenities, from modern guestrooms (some of which are pet-friendly!) and suites to fantastic onsite dining at River Rock Kitchen, where kids’ menus are available. Kids ages 12 and under also eat free at River Rock on weekends (10 a.m. to 3 p.m.). Wi-Fi is available for a fee.
Other perks include a fitness center, indoor swimming pool and free shuttle services within a 3-mile radius of the property, offered between 7 a.m. and 11 p.m. daily.

I have been extremely happy in the past staying at the Westin Wilmington. I don't know what happened in the last couple of years, but my latest experience this past weekend was not good. The public areas (guest room hallways and ground floor bathroom) were filthy. As for the suite we'd booked, it took four calls down to the concierge to get what we needed. There were three of us in a room, and only one bed. We thought the sofa would have a pull-out, but it didn't. Ordered a rollaway and came promptly. But without sheets or pillow. When we wanted a few extra packets of coffee for our room the next morning, we were told "only two packets are complimentary -- you have to buy coffee from the restaurant if you want more." The kitchen (not stocked, by the way -- no silverware, no glassware, etc... why have it?) had no trash can; as a matter of fact, the only trash can found was in the bedroom and a small one in the bathroom. Highly disappointed. So my rating went from 5 stars to 2.

Locale, service, amenities and good food. This place has it all!
Nestled in a riverfront area, not immediate on the river front but pretty dang close, this Westin is enthralled with restaurants, breweries, a beautiful river walk that goes for miles and much more.
Everyone at this location is very pleasant and professional. The amenities are what you would expect at many Westin’s to include the restaurant. The rooms are clean and comfortable. This is my go to hotel in this area.
