Very nice hotel right on the river and on the edge of the French Quarter. Our room on the 21st floor was very spacious, had a great view and the bed was very comfortable. One negative was that there was a train that went by along the river and you could hear the whistle blow. It did wake us up. The other negative was the supposedly foam pillows were very soft and squishy. Would have preferred a firmer pillow. I’d also say the buffet breakfast in the restaurant was definitely not worth the money.
All of the staff was very friendly and helpful. The concierge Pierre was great. He booked us on a terrific tour and had other good suggestions.
In spite of the small negatives we’d definitely stay here again.

Hotel is conveniently located at the Canal Place mall (floors 11+) across from Harrah's casino. Some rooms are recently renovated and have wonderful views of the Mississippi river. Hotel does not have a lounge for Marriott Bonvoy elite members, and does offer free breakfast in lieu of a club. Walkable to French Quarter and Bourbon Street, and street car stops right out front. $2 bus to/from airport stops at Harrah's, quite a bargain compared to the $35+ Uber or taxi ride.
