The Westin Maui is situated on Kaanapali Beach, offering views of Lana’i and Moloka’i islands. Guests stay in mountainview rooms or oceanfront suites — all with Heavenly Bed and Bath amenities. Accommodations are set in 11-story towers, presenting contemporary decors, private balconies and plenty of space for a family. Suites offer more privacy with a separate bedroom and living area. Three restaurants are at the Westin, and a traditional luau is held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings by the ocean. At this hotel, kids receive discounts on meals or eat for free, depending on the restaurant. At ‘Ono Bar & Grill, kids can pick tasty meals catered to them in children’s menus.
Children have a range of fun activities to choose from at the Westin. A children’s program introduces kids to cultural Hawaiian traditions, like hula dancing and language games. The Discovery Room holds day and night programs for kids that include sports, video games, swimming and a meal. Westin Maui has five pools with two waterslides and waterfalls. The water oasis only continues in the ocean with water sports and sailing opportunities available.

On our 25th Anniversary trip, we decided on Westin given its location on the best beach in Maui and proximity to restaurants and shopping. We were well aware of reviews that included negatives around construction. Our experience from the south tower floor 5 was that is was background noise and not worth worrying about. However, the north tower is getting a major makeover on the ground floors, so I could see that area being noisy during daytime if you’re close to that. The pools that we’re open we’re fantastic with bar service, even if you have to get your chairs by 7:00 AM before they are all taken, forcing you down to the pool by construction. Hot tub not working. Beautiful views and scenery from pools and rooms. Our room was good, clean and good bed but not recently updated but worked fine, we basically slept there, not much else. Proximity to Whaler’s Village key as only one restaurant open, but you’ll want to eat in Lahaina and Whaler’s Village anyway, too many good restaurants ( Paia Fish Market) to try! We rented a beach cabana one day to experience that and it was fantastic. Wonderful vacation and the price seemed discounted due to construction, but we didn’t really notice it. Would recommend for families as well as kid pool was nice and craft activities are daily to get them out of sun! Pool staff excellent. Valet parking way too expensive so don’t rent a car for more than two days to go to places you want to see (Haleakala sunset, Blowhole, Hana). Workout facilities are in temp area but useful. Good coffee shop for morning. Remember to get to pool early, if it’s full occupancy, there won’t be enough chairs with two pools closed. The new pools will be great when done, looks fantastic and close to being done.

Stayed for 2 nights (extended for 1 after great first day).
Lobby renovation is beautiful and very well done. Pools were OK for where they are at during renovation.
Little girl enjoyed kids pool. Rooms are a bit dated.
Service is very good. Recognition of platinum status. No upgrades available as we checked in late but was not an issue.
Breakfast had good options.
Would recommend. Once renovations are done will be great
