The Ballston Metro Station is only two blocks away from this hotel and allows for families to be in Washington D.C. and among the many museums and monuments within minutes. Several restaurants and shops are within walking distance and there is an onsite Starbucks for those who are in need of caffeine. No need to leave your four legged friend at home, because dogs under 40 pounds are welcome at this hotel. The Westin Kids Club offers get tips and a fun welcome package for the youngest of guests as well. And kids will love to take a dip in the indoor swimming pool while parents relax in the surrounding chairs. Or adults seeking a workout can test out the large fitness center. The 336 guestrooms and suites feature a king or two queen beds, a mini-fridge, flat screen television and DVD player. The spacious suites feature a separate living room area and a second television. There is Wi-Fi access to stay connected. The onsite restaurant and lounge, Pinzimini, serves delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner too.

We’ve stayed here before and found it convenient to both family and the Metro. The staff in general are helpful, beds are comfortable. However, both times we’ve gotten rooms that faced Glebe Road (in fairness we didn’t think to ask for a quieter room); it was impossible to sleep past 5:30 a.m. on that side of the hotel. Also, the parking situation is less than optimal. Everyone has to valet park and there’s always — always — a wait to get your car. So, if you are driving and have to get somewhere at a specific time be sure to leave yourself an extra 10 or 15 minutes just to factor in the valet parking which, by the way, now costs $35 per night. We plan to return to DC next year, however we will be looking for a different hotel.

Great location for Virginia Tech Arlington campus and helpful staff. There was confusion with my valet charges (double billed) when I was checking out but they took care of it quickly so I could be on my way.
Pro’s:
*Convenient location, walking distance to bars and restaurants
*Westin amenities (Heavenly Bed, Westin branded shampoo and conditioner)
*Clean room
Con’s:
*Rooms need updating, visible wear and tear showing
*Lobby under construction so less seating, restaurant, etc
*Valet was nice but very confused. Had to repeat things multiple times each time I needed my car
*Parking is expensive
