Located in rural eastern Wales, between Snowdonia and the English border, the West Arms Hotel has welcomed guests for more than 500 years. Because it is so old, you’ll encounter uneven floors, odd angles and funky stairways leading to rooms with sloped ceilings and unexpected configurations. It’s a great place for kids to explore, particularly if you book the Bunny Suite, perfect for families. The hotel coordinates age appropriate walks for its guests, and can make arrangements for bicycles and other outings to explore the region. The West Arms hotel has a restaurant and bar, and is pet-friendly.

This is a lovely little hotel, and the location is great for walks straight from the door. The food was excellent. The dogs were sweet, especially Sam the cocker spaniel who escorted us to our room. We will be back again.....

What a fabulous place and in such a wonderful location! We arrived on Saturday to a very warm welcome and were shown to our rooms. The rooms were very comfortable and provided very adequate accommodation. We went down to the bar for pre-dinner drinks which was lovely and cosy and chose our dinner selections. The dining room is lovely and the food fabulous well presented. All of us had partridge - beautifully cooked and very tasty. A great evening with good service and a cosy ambience. Breakfast the next day was really good - a tasty welsh breakfast with good quality produce. A lovely walk in the surrounding hills and countryside topped off a great stay.
Coffee and sausage rolls to share (well renowned and very large!) in the lounge afterwards accompanied by their two gorgeous dogs topped off a great stay. Thank you. We will be back! Wendy Slater.
