We didn’t have reservations for Monterrey for this part of our road trip so took a chance that the well located Wave Street Inn would do the trick. We were warmly welcomed by the pleasant staff with a decent size room with 2 beds for the 3 of us. We were given great snack bags. The reception waved the parking fee for the self parking & also allowed us to continue parking the next morning even after we had checked out. Although there were lots of spaces & it apparently was not busy, we very much appreciated the gesture & convenience. We liked the fire pit outside & being able to sit out & enjoy a glass of wine beside it on that cool May evening after dinner. While we would have liked to stay outside by the fire longer we understand it had to be shut down by 10pm. The location is great with an easy walk to Cannery Row, the walking/ bike path, restaurants, shopping, & Aquarium.

Wave Street has become my go to place to stay on Cannery Row. It's so close to all the restaurants I frequent in the area-you have to love it! The rooms are spacious and I enjoy looking out towards the Bay and Cannery Row from my window. The front desk is always very pleasant and professional-they never give you a hard time about anything or try to make excuses over some problem you may encounter. Any requests you have are handled immediately. The house keeping crew works very hard making sure rooms are in order when you arrive.
One perk here that I never really appreciated was the air conditioning that saved me during the heat wave during my last stay !
