Off the beaten path, for sure. This is an amazing place to enjoy an exclusive Hawaiian retreat. Located in a rainforest, very close to Volcano National Park. We stayed in 3 different rooms and enjoyed the uniqueness of each. One night is not enough. Quiet area with more locals than tourists, far from the hotel chains. Found a great Thai restaurant in town. Highly recommend.

We had a magical time at the lodge- each cabin is gorgeously laid out. The bed was sublime, as was waking up to the feeling of floating in a rain forest. We are already planing to come back , one night is not enough here. We spent one at Volcano House and one here and would definitely skip volcano house if we had it to do again. The proprietors have done such a wonderful job of staying out of the way while still providing a top quality hospitality for their guests. This is the spot if you like quiet, peaceful nature.
