Check in was a terrible way to start our stay. We arrived early and knew that there would possibly be a wait for our unit, which there was. However, when we were finally able to check in, the unit was not what we had reserved and paid for (only 1 bathroom instead of 2). We were given 2 other units to choose from, neither of which were ideal but we chose one and dealt with it. It was smaller than expected but did have 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and lots of stairs. I highly doubt that this resort is accessible if you have mobility issues. I also felt sorry for the poor lady who had to line up 3 times to check in as her unit, when she finally got it, had not been cleaned from the previous tenant. There really needs to be a better communication system between housekeeping and the front desk.
The resort is well situated for exploring the area. The scenery and hiking was exceptional. There are also many restaurants close by. We used the hot tubs, indoor pools and the gym with no issues. We were also able to borrow puzzles and games for the rainy days.
We reported that the TV in the master bedroom was malfunctioning. We're not sure if anyone ever came to check on it while we were out, but it never worked properly. There was a lot of leaf blowing going on during our stay and, one morning, they began at 8:00 right outside our unit and continued for several hours. We found this quite unacceptable. We left before our anticipated departure date.

Our 1BR unit with kitchen was a pleasant surprise after reading reviews. It was updated, clean & the mattress was great! The staff was very friendly & helpful. The hot tub & pool was a great place to relax after a long hike. I would definitely stay at Village of the Loon again!
