Jeff and Linda who work the front desk were top notch. Very kind, friendly, and helpful. Linda gave me some very useful travel tips. And, Jeff brought my suitcases to my room for me and also brought us a cooler to use during our stay. The downstairs units have a kitchenette but the upstairs units only have a table and chairs, no refrigerator and no microwave. We had the 2 beds, one twin unit which are the upstairs units. One of the beds is in a room to itself which offered much needed privacy as we were two women traveling together. There is no elevator or lobby. The units are old and dated and my bed was worn but the spectacular view of Lake McDonald is the compensation. And the big porch overlooking Lake McDonald was very conducive to meeting your neighbors which I totally enjoyed because I like meeting other travelers and hearing their stories. The view makes this the place to stay in Apgar. I would like to give 5 stars but I can’t. We stayed 3 nights and although housekeeping was very kind and pleasant, all they did was make the beds, empty trash, and change out the towels. Floors were not cleaned nor the bathroom. The sink was really yucky by the third day. The rooms are expensive here plus there a surcharge we didn’t know about until checkout. Great place for an overnight but I would not recommend any longer.

We didn’t know what to expect on arriving at Apgar but when we got our room we were amazed. What a view and what a nice room. We were on the first floor of the building overlooking Lake McDonald. We could have sat out on the chairs outside our door for days. Such a great spot with a kick back, low key feeling. Swim, kayak or just relax. No wonder the people next to us come up for a week every year!
