Overview

Located in the hillside of Sayulita, there is no bad view at Villa Amor. The gorgeous ocean and Sayulita Beach sit at the bottom of the hill, offering guests panamaroic beach views from nearly any room. The extensive stone stairs to reach the guestrooms show off amazing handcrafted details through tiles and carvings — but they aren’t the easiest for children to climb, unfortunately. Teens will adore this hotel, however, especially for its close promixty to downtown Sayulita.
Many of the open-air rooms feature a kitchenette and private soaking pool on the balcony. Families can purchase snacks or groceries nearby or take advantage of the onsite restaurant or one of the many restaurants within walking distance. Yoga classes, paddleboards and bicycles are all included in your stay as well, making it an ideal hotel for families with teens.

I almost didn’t want to review Villa Amor as to keep it a secret.
This is one of the nicest place we been in some time. We came during the very busy of Dia de los Muertos but that really didn’t change how well we were received and treated. The staff are very accommodating, friendly and professional. Many thanks to Ricardo, Francisco and Eduardo for always seeing how they could be of service.
The hotel is located just a 5 minute walk to town. Once you’re in Sayulita there’s really non need for a car. If you’d like, you could rent a golf cart to get around.
In the other direction away from town, is a smallish beach called Playa del muertos...another 5 minute walk to this wonderful beach. If you get the picture that everything is very close you’re right.
Let’s talk about the hotel itself. Open air living area which is huge and ours had a plunge pool (not heated and not needed as it was a wonderful cool off from the hot day). The bedrooms are air conditioned. Bathroom is appropriately supplied with the normal amenities including a hair dryer. With some very few exceptions, there are many, many stairs leading to your villa. Pack light, not that you need much besides shorts, shirts and swim ware.
They property has two very nice pools in a jungle like atmosphere. Onsite massages for $35 USD per person per hour. There’s a restaurant immediately across the street not run by the hotel called Sí Señor. Good food and service but you’ll pay for the convenience. At times, that was our go to. Free reliable wifi throughout the property.
The staff at the hotel is always there to help you book anything from SUP to airport transportation.
As for the beach, etc, remember that you back up to a jungle like forest and you’ll get noseem bites at dusk which is to be expected.
We drank and brushed our teeth with bottled water, had drinks with ice from purified water and were generally careful about not eating foods that were not peeled or cooked. Hence, we didn’t get sick.
Of the more than half a dozen cities I’ve visited in Mexico, Sayulita is my favorite and look forward to returning to Villa Amor. It’s a little slice of heaven on earth.

Our daughter and son in law hosted their welcome party here at Villa Amor and several guests booked their stay here. It was a wonderful place and very "tree house" in that there is plenty of vegetation between the rooms - all located on a beautiful hill overlooking the ocean.
The pool area is wonderful and we coundn't be happier
