We booked our room thinking it would just be my husband and I traveling. At the last minute we learned our 3 kiddos would be tagging along. They are 3,5 &7 so we didn't think it was big deal. When we arrived to the hotel we had to add the kids onto our purchase price. Our total purchase price was $482.51 but after adding 2 out of 3 of the kids on it went to $550.28. I guess I could understand a little extra but I didn't feel that a difference of $67.77 was justified. They slept in the same beds with us and the only extra thing we received was 3 additional towel sets.
The room was ok. It wasn't tiled, just dark green carpet that showed every single speck of sand. They did have a vacuum cleaner in the closet so we made good use of that. We had double beds which worked out ok because we split the kids and us among them. There was no balcony. We were on the street side so it was a little noisy but got pretty quiet at night. It was very bright and almost seemed like it was daytime all night. the next night we were able to rig one of the comforters to cover the window and help darken the room. The AC was ice cold but very loud. It ran basically the majority of the time we were in there so it was a loud noise throughout the night.
The pool was nice, it got very warm by the end of the night. It almost felt like a hot tub each night.
The walk to the beach was very short down a small dead-end street. It's a beautiful beach and a great place to relax.
We walked to get ice cream one night and to John's Pass another. Both were quick and easy walks.
The hotel is older and it seems like it's pretty clean it just needs some cosmetic repairs. It's in a great location for visiting the John's Pass area or even a short drive to the St. Petersburg/Clearwater/Tampa areas.
