Overview

While some visitors to Maui only drive the road to Hana for the experience, some will find the Travaasa boutique hotel to be an ideal stay when wanting to escape to Maui’s true Hawaii. Hana isn’t filled with towering resort hotels and sprawling golf courses. Instead, this is “Old Hawaii” set in the lush landscape of Maui’s rainforests near its seven sacred pools, black sand beaches and a small Hawaiian “village.”

Travaasa is spread out across its vast, tropical property, with garden view suites providing sleeping and living space and family suites big enough to accommodate six with full, gourmet kitchens and dining areas. Sea Ranch Cottages located near the ocean with full privacy are only available to those 16 and up, with the exception of special Family Weeks, so grab one if you can! Onsite dining and a spa are also available for guests. Families can enjoy the beach, pool, biking, horseback riding, water sports such as kayaking and hiking. Guests are also close to the Road to Hana’s many hiking trails leading to hidden pools, beaches and waterfalls.

Our Editor Loves

Don’t know about the hotel but restarting was great.

The burger was amazing. The Maui beef just tasted better. Likely my best meal and didn’t snap a photo because I wasn’t expecting much. My wife enjoyed her burger less meat sandwich just as much. The view from the porch was nice and calm and quiet. Great stop on the road to Hana your.

This place was great, what a beautiful setting. A little on the pricey side, I would have expected at least a coffee in the morning but such is Hawaii. Suite was clean and comfortable, food was very good. Anyone who cannot appreciate this place has their head up their ass. This is an island in the middle of nowhere and Hana is about as real deal Hawaii as you can get, locals were friendly and the scenery is amazing. I wish I could have afforded to stay longer. Miracle was very nice and informative when I bought coffee the next day. Thank you to all the staff
