While the staff is very friendly and accommodating, this is one of the earlier generation Towneplace Suites Hotels. If you stayed in one of the new ones, you will be very disappointed to stay in this one. My room did not have a tv remote or an iron. The tv in the fitness room would not turn on. While the owners have upgraded some items, there are other items that are in dire need. Try the Home2Suites. That's where I decided to go for my second night and it is much nicer. If you only care about a low price, then this hotel is for you.

Stay Report - 7/17 - 7/18

Location: The hotel is located on W.T. Harris Blvd just west of I-85 in the same complex with a Springhill Suites and a Macaroni Grill.  Nearby are a number of other restaurants, mainly chians, as well as the University Place Mall which now has a really good brewery.  Because of the proximity to I-85 you can get to downtown or CLT in 15 minutes with no traffic. 

Hotel: The hotel is an older style TPS location where it feels like an apartment complex.  There's a really tiny office area that has a single computer business center and a small sundry store.  There's a separate room for breakfast but it's also pretty small.  Outside is a too small parking lot and tiny outdoor pool.

Check In: I had a very friendly agent who thanked me for being Titanium and offered me either bonus points or a marketplace item.  There was no issue getting a 2 PM checkout

Room: Actually really nice.  It had a big kitchen, large, comfortable bed, really nice work area and a decent sized bathroom.  As I had to be in the room a lot during the day between appointments it was a nice place to spend time in. 

Food: When I arrived in the evening there was a manager's reception with chicken salad, croissants, fruit and chips.  For breakfast there was sausage and premade omelets plus some cold items.

For $108 a night this hotel is perfectly fine, especially if you're going to be in your room a lot.
