Overview

The extended-stay suites of this new hotel are perfect for a family that wants the comforts of home on their vacation. The spacious suites can include two queen beds, plus a queen sleeper sofa. There’s even enough space for a crib or rollaway. Each suite comes with a full kitchen with a full-size refrigerator, oven, microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker, and a collection of dishes and utensils. Kids will love swimming in the beautiful outdoor pool that features splashing fountains. The hotel serves a free hot breakfast in the downstairs breakfast room. Because TownePlace Suites shares a lobby with the Courtyard hotel, you can pop over to their onsite restaurant, The Bistro, for lunch or dinner. Other amenities include a fitness center, laundry facilities, and free Wi-Fi.
TownePlace Suites is located right off the interstate on the eastern edge of Abilene, not far from the campus of Abilene Christian University. There are several casual chain restaurants within walking distance of the hotel, but you’ll find local fare around the school and, even better, in downtown Abilene 5 miles to the west. The historic downtown district has a lively restaurant scene, in addition to a multitude of world-class museums. Kids will love Frontier Texas, which uses holographic characters to walk you through the history of the state. From there, it’s a half-mile walk to the National Center for Children’s Illustrated Literature, a free museum that celebrates and exhibits artwork from children’s books. Make your downtown visit part of a History Walk by picking up a self-guided map at any of the area museums. With its large suites, relaxing pool, and amenities, and quiet location, the TownePlace Suites is an ideal choice for your family vacation to Abilene.

We came in very late on this visit and without a reservation but the ladies were able to get us a room and sent upstairs and off to bed.
Great service. Very clean. Our #1 choice when staying in Abilene. They have a bar that serves snack foods and cocktails in the evening (not free) but delicious.
I would recommend making a reservation as they tend to fill up on the weekends.
Gym was decent. Pool was very cold and strong chemicals. Everyone was complaining about their eyes burning. We never made it down for the free breakfast so I can’t comment there.
Great stay! See you again soon!

The TownePlace still provides nice, clean rooms. There is a coffee and drink bar downstairs where you can purchase drinks in the evening at a reasonable price. The breakfast is slightly overpriced for what you get, but you are near several popular breakfast restaurants nearby. Housekeeping is excellent, front desk check in and check out is simple, and there is a small market on the premises for very basic needs - water, soft drinks, snacks, etc.
