If you want an exceptional meal, try the Topping Rose Restaurant in Bridgehampton, New York. They have broad menu selection, beautifully prepared and served.
We had reserved a table for four. We each ordered different items: appetisers such as fresh fluke crudo, grilled octipus, pumpkin risotto, and mains including monkfish, buffalo short ribs, parmesan encrusted chicken, and strip steak with pepper jam. Desserts were equally imaginative. Every dish was a winner! Even in good restaurants that is unusual. Highly recommended!

This hotel has been beautifully and tastefully restored from a classic 19th century house. We stayed in one of the cottage king guest rooms which was modern, recently built and extremely comfortable, with its own private patio. It was very quiet. The bed was especially comfortable. The restaurant in the main house was excellent - the food was extremely good and the service superb. The bar is very nice, as is the rather intimate library upstairs - a splendid place to relax with an aperitif before dinner. All of the staff without exception were very welcoming and helpful. An altogether delightful and very special stay, highly deserving of five stars.
Family Activities
Pool
The Topping Rose House has an outdoor pool that is open seasonally from Memorial Day to Columbus Day. Daily hours are from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and the pool ranges in depth from 3 to 6 feet; there are no lifeguards on duty. Parents and children can relax and soak up the sun on one of the lounge chairs that surround the pool, too. A small grassy area is also near the pool and kids can run and play Frisbee or kick a ball around for more fun.
Bicycles
Complimentary bicycles and helmets are available at the hotel; just ask the front desk.
Library
On the second floor of the main building, a library room offers families a place to sit and read by a fireplace. The staff suggests this as a place to enjoy a cocktail before dinner or read with little ones on a rainy afternoon.
Beach & Surrounding Attractions
The closest beach to the hotel is Ocean Road Beach, and the hotel operates a complimentary beach shuttle during the warmer months. Other surrounding attractions include the Children's Museum of the East End and the South Fork Natural History Museum and Nature Center, both of which are just down the road.
