It's painful to have to give this place 1 star. Had the misfortune of staying here for 1 night in room 6 last month. Arrived around 6 pm and immediately noticed that everything about the room was outdated and dirty. The once white bedspread was beige and looked filthy, I was grossed out having to sit on it. I had to immediately leave for an engagement but asked the hotel staff to prep the sofa bed because there was 3 of us. Upon arriving back to the room close to midnight, the sofa bed was not set up. I called the front desk and asked them to come fix it and was told I could do it myself, "it's easy, just pull it out!" - after moving the heavy coffee table to the side, I pulled the sofa pillows and a MOUSE, a freaking MOUSE crawled out and ran under the radiator! I immediately called the front desk back and demanded another room, to which they said they had none. It was passed midnight by this point, and the thought of finding another place in a somewhat desolate area wasn't appealing, so we decided to stay. They offered to bring a trap but told them not to bother. They didn't sound surprised or upset at all about this, I am thinking it wasn't the first call made about this. We didn't take them up on the offer for a trap, last thing I needed to hear was a mouse in agony over the night. Not to mention, it takes far more than a casual trap to even catch a pesky mouse. I continue to pull the sofa bed out only to find hair and what looked like sand on the sheets. They were clearly not changed since the last use. It was disgusting. We again decided on stayed knowing we'd run out of there by 5am and just had to make the most of it for a few hours. The bedsheets on the main bed were equally as disclosed, the furniture looked to be from the original home in the 1700s, dust everywhere, absolutely awful, the entire experience from start to finish. Morning came after a sleepless night only to find no hot water after letting it run for 20 minutes.
We ran out of there by 5am, un-showered and all with itchy necks, god knows what we placed our heads one. And when I say "we ran" we had to do it carefully because the steps going down are slanted, outdated and small and I was thankful no one in my party broke a leg getting out. This place should be condemned.
