Excellent Place to stay near Seward

by chak1014

We stayed 3 nights in Teddy's Inn during our vacation in Anchorage area and we absolutely loved it. Unlike many homeowners, she made sure that she was there when we reached the property to welcome us. There was a wind storm the first night we were there which caused power cuts thereby disrupting the water supply too. This kind of things happen but the way Teddy handled it was what mattered. She apologized for the inconvenience and also came in to see how we were managing as soon as she woke up the next morning. She had a pitcher of water in the bridge and we had bottled water with which we managed that morning. When we got back from our sight-seeing in the evening, the power was back again. The house was very clean. The kitchen had all the essential utensils and spices, salt, sugar, coffee, tea and whatever we needed to cook some meals. She even had some home made welcome cookies in the kitchen and some berries in the fridge. She is very kind and is always willing to help in anyway she can. We even had access to the washing room to use the washer/dryer to do our laundry. My son loved playing in the basketball court. He thought it was the best vacation home we ever stayed in. The bunk beds were really unique and very comfortable. There were beautiful flowers in the garden, patios and even in the house. This place was absolutely amazing. The thoughtful touches of the owners is what makes this place extraordinary. We will love to stay there again if we visit that area ever again. I can highly recommend this place to any traveler looking for accommodation in that area.

Doesn't Get Better Than This!

We have been to Alaska several times, and have always loved the Kenai Peninsula for its exceptional beauty and fishing, hiking, and just hanging out opportunities. We just returned from an amazing find-Teddy's Inn In the Woods in Moose Pass! I cannot even begin to say enough about it's sheer magic. The Inn is actually a secluded guest house, with a deck in the front and back facing the exquisite mountains. The cabin itself is incredibly comfortable and beautiful, and has a modern kitchen, large bedroom, 3 couches in the family room that are actually super comfy beds, and a fold-out couch. To our delight, it even has a washer and dryer. We were only there 4 nights, but have already made reservations to return next summer for a full week. We got blissfully into the habit of waking up leisurely, enjoying the super fast wifi speed as we caught up on the news, etc., all the while enjoying fresh brewed coffee on the gorgeous back deck. After breakfast we would choose the hike for the day(SO many excellent options), grab fishing gear, and be off for what was always a superb adventure. The hikes and fishing around Moose Pass are incomparable! Lunch was eaten at one of the surprisingly good local restaurants, and then we'd hike and fish some more. When we returned, we'd have a glass of wine on the deck, pinching ourselves that we were lucky enough to have found this place. The daily highlight of many highlights was going to the beach right across from the cabin, building a fire with the driftwood, and absorbing the not to be believed gorgeous scenery. An added bonus was every day the Alaska passenger train went by at about 6:00 PM, and we would run up the small hill to wave at the passengers, who heartily waved back. When we got hungry, we'd return to the cabin and barbecue dinner on Teddy's grill. Teddy and Tom, the owners, are as nice and accommodating as it gets! They could not have been more gracious and lovely! We LOVED Teddy's Inn, and made the decision while there to incorporate a yearly stay at this magical cabin in the woods!
