This guest house is simple but was just right for me. It is within walking distance of most places in Cusco which is nice because driving there would be a challenge. I had a room in the back of the house which was good because the street was fairly noisy some nights. The downside was that there was no window to open for ventilation. All in all a very reasonably priced option for a stay in town.

The Tecte House was perfect for our group of 11 visiting Cusco. This is not like a typical AirBnb, more like a hotel. Each room has own private bath. I'll break this down into a few categories.
Location - The location is AWESOME!!!!! You can walk anywhere in Cusco. 3 blocks to San Pedro Market, 4 to Plaza de Armas. The location is just perfect!!!!
Cleanliness - The Tecte house is clean. They are cleaning all the time. Wiping down everything, you see them cleaning the rooms when a guest leaves.
Value - Remember, you are getting what you pay for. This is not a luxury hotel. This is a local guest house with a great location.
Rooms - *Walls are super thin. You can hear everything. The hallways, outside, next door. You will hear every sound. Some rooms don't have windows to street which can be a + or - depending upon noise. *Heat is inconsistent. We had one room where it took 3x time get a heater that worked. Hot water sometimes doesn't work either. We had some cold showers and some nice hot ones. *No in room storage. This was kind of a bummer since the first stay we had we were there for 3 nights and you had to live out of your luggage. Would be nice if there was a shelf or cubbies to put items in. Just a few hangers was all.
*Common Area - this was great since we were a group of 11 people. We had our Inca Trail prep in the common area, used it as a living room with our group. Very convenient.
*Breakfast - the breakfast is good, hot fresh eggs every morning, coffee, breads, fruit.
*Storage - they made the luggage storing (while on Inca Trail) very easy. Just leave all bags in one room, they take them from there. When you return, all bags are in a room. THANK YOU!!!! Super helpful!!!!
All in all I'd definitely recommend the Tecte House, but you must know what you are getting. It is not the JW Marriott but it is a wonderful clean local guest house in an amazing location. Thank you!!!!
UPDATE: One member of our group left their wallet at the property. I would like to THANK the Tecte House for contacting us and shipping it back to the USA so quickly. So appreciated!!!!!
