Very comfortable stay in "quiet" Taipei neighbourhood.

by NinjaNeko

We stayed at Taipei Garden hotel for 2 nights, the first of three hotels we tried in Taipei. Out of all 3 this one had the best room size and amenities (we had booked a superior double room), but this location was less interesting than the other 2 I'd say.

As mentioned the room was large and clean, with a really great shower and a tiny Japanese-style bathtub I tried out. Toilet was not separate. The room was described as sound-proof and I can confirm there was no outside noise coming in, always a huge plus for me. Even from the traffic it was limited, although the hotel is on a very busy intersection. Our room was at the back of the building, and we had a view on a historic (?) gate. Wifi was not always stable but this is phenomenon we experienced in all hotels in Taiwan frankly.

Staff was very courteous and friendly.

We did not have breakfast or dinner at the hotel (for breakfast we went to the nearby carrefour supermarket's dumpling bun stall). Dinner options were a bit scarse compared to other areas we stayed in, but we did find a nice hotpot place nearby (and 50 Lan bubble tea).

MTR was walking distance, but we also walked back from the Ximending shopping area one evening and that was doable. We also walked to the Longshan temple from the hotel.

I enjoyed our stay here.

Steps away Ximending

Located away from the hustle and bustle of Ximending. We were able to store our luggages before the check-in time to explore Ximending. There were lots of local eateries and shops. The triple room was perfect for my group. Beds were firm and comfortable.
This hotel is good for a short weekend stay.
