We just wanted a short overnite get away from Sacramento. It had been years since my husband had been to Lake Tahoe and we are only 2 hours or less away, depending on road construction and traffic. I found this great hotel, where every room has a lakeview and balcony. Room was immaculate. Interesting rustic furniture that fit in with the mountain vibe. Hotel has a pool and whirlpool. There is a beautiful beach for walking. Very friendly and helpful staff that provided restaurant re.commendations. Plus NO HATEFUL RESORT FEE!

We enjoyed our stay very much. I highly recommend a lakefront view on floor 2 or 3. There is an elevator so don’t worry about stairs if that’s an issue for you. The beach is clean and of course the lake is crystal clear. If you like to kayak there is a rental place within walking distance. The room was a standard king bed size. Not luxurious but not small. Be aware that the rooms do not have air conditioning. Most times they don’t need it, especially if you open the balcony door for airflow. That’s works until the really annoying gaggle of Canada geese start partying at 3am. Then you have to close the balcony door. South Lake Tahoe is where the most action is around the Lake. There are casinos, restaurants, bars etc. The good news is that when you’re at Lakeshore on the beach none of that scene is noticeable. But if that’s your thing you’re a short drive away. This is not the most modern fancy place in Tahoe by far. But it is well located, insulated, has a really nice beach and is moderately priced for Tahoe. I would also recommend for families. The staff was friendly and helpful.
