Nice, quaint, friendly historic inn located in downtown Mendocino, a small beautiful village with no chain hotels or restaurants. Sweetwater Inn is walking distance to the beautiful rocky Pacific coastline. Do not miss the incredible Italian restaurant in back of the property. There's a decent grocery store a few blocks farther. We found this inn to be a good base for exploring this scenic "town that time forgot."

Overall the cabin was as advertised- smaller than expected but it was just 2 of us so the size was fine. The fridge was small but not super cold and the freezer only fit a couple of ice packs. We didn't use the TV, radio, or fireplace. Weather and temperature were perfect in mid-August.
A few issues: the private hot tub was one of the main reasons we booked this cabin. Unfortunately, it was EXTREMELY HOT (it said 107° but it felt hotter- practically scalding and I normally love HOT water). We tried to lower the temp and even requested maintenance to adjust but it never got any cooler. The sun deck was nice so we could only last 5 min in the water and cooled down for 20 -30 min on the Adirondack chairs.
The bath/shower is really slippery and awkwardly high off the bathroom floor. My husband (6’ tall) did not have issues but I’m 5’2” and I practically fell out of the tub/shower getting out each time. Thankfully there is handlebar to hold onto but some steps or something should be done to address the unexpected height difference, especially for older people with limited mobility or children.
Finally, there were some “critters” scratching around in the walls behind the bed at night. It kept us up as they’re literally inches away from our heads. During the daytime, we saw and heard birds around, on the roof, etc. but this was between 3am-6am.
Location was good- only a few minutes drive to the “village” but next time we’d like to stay in town so we can walk to restaurants and shops.
