Overview

The Sunset Plaza Beach Resort & Spa offers families 100 suite-style, deluxe and one-bedroom guestrooms, with ocean views and terraces for lounging while taking in the sunset. Guestrooms come with king and queen beds, with sofa beds, private terraces, flat-screen TV’s with DVD players, iPod docks, bathrobes, slippers, a mini bar (restocked daily) and 24-hour room service. Wi-Fi is complimentary throughout the entire resort, as well.

Families will enjoy being close to the beach and the downtown area of Puerto Vallarta, but will enjoy relaxing within the resort, too. The resort has a heated infinity family pool and a heated, adults-only pool, too. Check out the tennis courts or the fitness center if looking to exercise. Kids will be at the complimentary kids club all day with its video game area, mini-golf space, pool, playground and craft areas. The kids club also has a kid-friendly snacks.

For family meals though, check out Mirador Bistro Grill and Lucciano. The Mirador Bistro Grill is open daily from 7 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. for breakfast, lunch and dinner and serves Mexican and international flavors. Lucciano is open daily for dinner from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. and offers Italian cuisine. Deli La Canela is open Tuesday through Sunday from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. and serves up sandwiches, organic salads, paninis and pastries. You can also grab a cup of coffee or herbal tea here, too.

When parents are looking for alone time, enjoy a massage in the Zen Set Spa.

Love this place & the people who work there! Our room & view was absolutely gorgeous. The suites are huge. Large king size bedroom, large balcony (8th Floor), sliders to balcony from bedroom & living room. Gigantic Master bathroom w jacuzzi tub, lrg separate sink areas, toilet in own room, walk in shower, walk-in closet big enough for a bed LOL. Pull out bed in living room. 2nd full size big bathroom w Lrg walk-in shower. Excellent food! Great Tenured workers that are fun & very attentive/personable.

Evaluation of Sunset Plaza Resort

We just completed our fourth visit to Sunset Plaza which is more of a boutique style resort with 100 rooms. From the General Manager, Alberto, to the entire staff, you will be treated with the highest level of personal attention. The food is excellent with a wide variety to select from. No buffets here. Everything is a la carte off the menu and you will not be disappointed. We have traveled all over Mexico from Cancun to Cabo a minimum of fifty times. Sunset Plaza will be at the top of our list when we visit Mexico again. Thank all of you for such a wonderful week.
