Overview

Sunnyside Motel & Cottages is located at the tip of Mount Desert Island in Bar Harbor, Maine, a short drive from Acadia National Park. The yellow motel offers comfortable and affordable accommodations, including traditional motel rooms and cottages.

Motel rooms have one king bed or two doubles, along with mini-fridges and microwaves. Guests of these rooms also enjoy porches and barbecue grills right outside their doors. Cottages, on the other hand, have one or two bedrooms, fully equipped kitchens, and screened porches with grills. They can sleep up to six guests.

Relaxing!

A lovely 2 night stay here just outside of busy Bar Harbor. Just a quick drive to Acadia National Park or downtown Bar Harbor. We rented one of the cottages. Very spacious and clean. Small kitchenette, small screened porch and picnic table. Gas grill and small laundry facility available. Quiet and so relaxing. Enjoyed this stop on our road trip. Be aware the cottages have heat but no air conditioning. We were very comfortable without air conditioning, but something to be aware of if renting one of the cottages in the summer. The motel units have both heat and air.

Best of the breed

Little collections of cottages still dot the American landscape. Of the type it doesn't get any better than Sunnyside. Exceptionally clean, well cared for, well run and friendly. It's hard to give any cottage motel 5 stars but I would give it 4 1/2. These people really care.
