I always try to start out with positive. This hotel is BEAUTIFUL, and that is why the things that need attention were a bit surprising, but so simple to fix. Our room was truly comfortable, the bathroom decor AMAZING, the colors and artwork, and bed comfort wonderful!! LOVED that they offered a sheet with paint colors, artists names and contacts, and used local artists. loved complimentary coffee in the morning. The staff was gracious and helpful.
A few things. The plungpool area was shockingly barren. It wasn't a very attractive place to relax, given the beauty of the rest of the hotel. Behind the plunge area was a flat out ugly patch of fake grass, with potted plants that looked ignored and spindly.
on the first night we enjoyed a glass of wine on the outdoor patio, which again, given the attention to the rest of the hotel, was a bit lackluster. However, when we came out the next morning to have coffee, the cushions were soaking, there were cigarette butts and broken glass. I cannot imagine that they don't have a second set of cushions to replace in the morning to let the dew dry.
Surprised that upon checkin, no one offered to help with our luggage.
Heres what REALLY bothered us. The shower drained so slow we thought it was going to overflow. after a shower on our first night, I immediately reported it to the front desk, and was told it would be taken care of first thing next day. by 5PM the next day, it had STILL not been looked at.
The amenities in the room are lovely, but there was no lotion. Again, called front dest, and the receptionist brought some up. Again, next day, no lotion. Hmmm. these are things that are very, very fixable.
Again, lovely, restful, and relaxing, but a few (important) touches would make this 5 star.
