We returned here for our fourth visit within two years after discovering this hotel to be of a similar standard to our favorite Bali hotel The Legian in Seminyak which we have visited 22 times. This time was our longest stay at Soori with five nights. The Ocean view pool suites are worth the extra cost and are set high over the beach with unobstructed views to the sea, temples on the hill and sunset.
The food is world class although this time we noticed that at dinner the kitchen service was much slower than at previous visits. This was a comment that many fellow guests also made and it was sometimes obviously embarrassing and an uncomfortable situation for the restaurant staff to have to keep consoling guests that their food was on the way but they handled it extremely professionally. Unfortunately we did not get an opportunity to meet the manager otherwise we would have fed this information back to him directly. Otherwise a perfect stay and as someone who works in HR I would like to mention a few names of staff who give just that little bit extra to make guests feel welcome and are an absolute credit to the hotel. A lady that every international hotel would fight to have in their team is Ayu - see attached photo. Such a friendly and professional member of staff and an absolute credit to the hotel . Our good friends Yuli, Budiari and Mila with their welcoming smiles at breakfast and lunch and for knowing what we wanted without us having to say a word. New staff that we met this time who made a lasting good impression were Pendit in the Ombak restaurant and Suan who joined since our last visit and was most pleasant to chat with.
One improvement we noticed this time was the introduction of a complimentary mini bar which is refreshed daily and was long overdue at Soori and most other five star hotels in Bali already offer this since several years. Another improvement is that all toiletries are now in dispensers and no longer in plastic tubes. We will be back again next year.

We landed back home this morning after 8 beautiful days at Soori.
We booked this week in November last year and on and off had kept going back looking at the pictures over the last 12 months to remind ourselves what it was like. We also recently had a look at the most recent reviews on TripAdvisor and hoped it was as good as the recent reviews. To be honest reviews and pictures do not do it any justice.
We had an amazing time and not sure where to start..
The room - spectacular. The food amazing and the breakfast is to die for, with the novel idea of everything being tasting plates, so you can choose as many as you want and the menu changes every day! The service was great, very attentive but not overly in your face and everyone remembered your name after the first time of meeting.
They just knew the right level of attentiveness. Nothing was too much trouble for any of them. The butlers always made sure the room was serviced when we were in breakfast or at dinner, so that we were never troubled..
Trips were sorted for us, bikes were arranged together with instructions where to buy anything that we may want locally.
For us the biggest treat was that as we had gone out of season, the hotel was only 50% full - our idea of bliss when we are just disappearing for a week of complete relaxation and recharging of the batteries, which Soori definitely did for us.
I would definitely recommend Soori and say stop thinking and just book it. Next time we go to Bali, we definitely will be back to Soori for its tranquility and location - nowhere near the crowds of Seminyak or tourists, but pleasantly ensconced between rice fields and the ocean, which you can hear at night.
Thank you Soori for an amazing week!
