We stayed over Christmas and the hotel was very busy. Our check-in was efficient and uncomplicated and the staff very friendly. The room we were given had a brilliant view over the river, the Chain Bridge and the Buda Castle, which was even more spectacular at night. Being Christmas we treated ourselves to a massage which was fantastic.
We booked lunch on Christmas Day at their restaurant, Paris, unfortunately this was a disaster. There was no festive atmosphere in the restaurant. The entrees we had were ok however the main chosen was not cooked at all well. The waiter returned the meal to the kitchen, however didn’t return with it until we queried how long it was taking which was over 30 mins, by which time my partner had finished their meal. When the meal did return the plate garnishes had obviously been left on the plate possibly under a heater as they were wilted and disgusting. Given this was our Christmas meal we were severely disappointed. The restaurant was busy but there were a number of empty tables still. We chalked this up to a bad experience.
We chose to have the buffet breakfast on a couple of occasions. The food choices are great however we feel that they pack too many tables in and in some instances you are ‘enjoying’ breakfast with complete strangers. On our final morning we ordered omelettes from the staff. We waited and waited for our omelettes which didn’t arrive. When we noticed another table that were seated a while after us receive their omelettes, we queried the staff. This would have been after approximately 20 minutes. Again we waited until we again queried the whereabouts of the omelettes, waiting another 10 or so minutes. This time we believe it was the Maître d, that came to our table to apologise and to reiterate our order. The omelettes arrived within 5 minutes - great, except my partners omelette had mushrooms which they are allergic to. Not a great experience at all.
We spoke to the Duty Manager given our breakfast and lunch issues who listened, apologised and followed up. His name was David, and he was very good and a credit to the hotel.

After several stops in Europe and a river cruise, we treated ourselves to this beautiful hotel on the Danube with FANTASTIC VIEWS. STaff were friendly and spoke English. The morning breakfast buffet was elaborate. Spa, fitness & pool area was also very nice They have a pillow service with 6 selections and complimentary spa bath products delivered to your room. The softest robe & slippers made lounging a pleasure. My only disappointment was instant coffin the room.
