Overview

Outside, Skyline Inn doesn’t look like much. It’s a plain building with a plain sign advertising the name. Nearby, it appears as though there’s only a giant parking garage (shared by hotel guests and casino visitors) and a few other hotels. Walk inside, and your apprehensive opinion will surely change.

The hotel’s spacious rooms cater to families (some sleep up to seven people), and many open to a lovely indoor courtyard, where movie nights are often hosted. The hotel’s best feature is a skywalk to the popular Fallsview Indoor Waterpark (extra fees apply), and guests enjoy access to the pools at Sheraton on the Falls and Crowne Plaza Niagara Falls — all connected to each other via private walkways. Kids also eat free at Perkins (located onsite) and Planet Hollywood.

The hotel is about a five-minute drive from Niagara Falls, but doesn’t provide a view of them.

Reviews

Stinks

by jbou28

Just returned from a one night stay - November 9th. 2 adults and our 6 year old for his birthday weekend. This is our second time staying here for use of the waterpark.
We stayed in room 2006 - noisy hallway, running kids, pounding doors, and view
Of the inner courtyard with really no natural light or privacy.
Room smelled like pee.
Beds are uncomfortable.
No coffee cups with the coffee maker.
Bathroom is crammed and tight.

Our favourite part of this hotel - was not staying in the hotel room.
Loved the waterpark, and distance to Clifton hill.

Not staying here again.

Concept of upgrade is different

by Pete P

My wife and I recently stayed here for her birthday. We requested a traditional two queen bedroom. Upon getting to our room we found out it was a one queen room and with bunk bed. On our online reservation we informed the hotel that it would be 2 adults and 0 kids staying in room. Went to front desk to complain and was informed by first attendant that it was an upgrade. Not sure how a 6ft 2in guy or even a 5ft 9in lady can fit into a bunk bed without breaking it. Attendant told me it was a upgrade based on occupancy of room. I informed her that if the bunk bed cannot be used properly then it is no longer considered an upgrade. Asked for another room but attendant said hotel was full due to a student conference. Wife and I went to a buffet for dinner and then tried again with another attendant to get another room with 2 queen beds that we originally requested online. Very frustrating birthday for my wife. Chose the hotel primarily for the closeness to casino niagara. Not very happy with the overall experience

Family Activities

Fallsview Indoor Waterpark
Guests of the hotel enjoy easy access to the Fallsview Indoor Waterpark via a skywalk. The enclosed, climate-controlled walkway takes guests directly to the park, where they enjoy 16 waterslides, pools (including one outside), games and several eateries. While admission to the park isn't included in hotel rates, guests can purchase packages that combine accommodations and water park admission, plus breakfast.

Pools
The hotel itself doesn't have a pool, but guests enjoy access to the pools at the Crowne Plaza Niagara Falls-Fallsview and Sheraton on the Falls, since they are owned by the same company that operates Skyline Inn. Snippet needed for Crowne Plaza.

Family Movie Night
The hotel presents movies for families in the indoor courtyard. Films are typically shown any night the Fallsview Indoor Waterpark is open. Wear your pajamas and bring your favorite snacks!

Nearby Activities
The hotel is located close to Clifton Hill, a hub for attractions and restaurants. It's a five-minute drive to Niagara Falls and Skylon Tower, which affords the best views of the famed falls.

Family Dining

Perkins
The hotel is connected to a Perkins Restaurant, which serves standard fare for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Kids eat free after 4 p.m. with the purchase of one adult entrée. During the summer, Perkins is open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., Sunday to Thursday, and 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. In the winter, hours are 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., Sunday to Thursday, and 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.

Planet Hollywood
Kids also eat free at Planet Hollywood when an accompanying adult purchases an entrée for $17.95 or more at lunch or dinner. Planet Hollywood is open daily, noon to 9 p.m.

Nearby Restaurants
You'll find several restaurants on nearby Clifton Hill, including Tim Horton's, Rainforest Café, Boston Pizza and Mamma Mia's.

Planning & Tips

All About the Extras
Wi-Fi
The hotel provides free Wi-Fi.

Packages
The hotel offers several packages, including a Waterpark with Breakfast Package that includes admission to the Fallsview Indoor Waterpark and breakfast. Guests can also choose a Waterpark Getaway Package, with admission to the park only, or a Niagara Falls Getaway Package, with breakfast and dinner included for two people (additional fees apply for kids).

Parking
Self-parking is available for $13 per night, either under the hotel in a parking lot (spots are available on a first-come, first-served basis) or in the parking garage opposite the hotel.

Check-In/Check-Out
Check-in is at 3 p.m. and check-out is at 11 a.m.

The Art of Smart Timing
Skyline Inn is busiest during the summer months, when tourists from all over the world descend upon Niagara Falls, Canada (everyone argues it to be the best side of the Falls). You might be able to save a bit and beat the crowds if you visit in the months of September and October, when many attractions (Hornblower Niagara Cruises) are still open. The Fallsview Indoor Waterpark is open year-round.

Getting There
Skyline Inn is located 45 minutes to an hour (considering traffic) from Buffalo Niagara International Airport in New York. Expect to pay a toll of $1 in New York, and another toll of $3.50 to cross Rainbow Bridge to Canada.

Getting Around
There's a lot to do in Niagara Falls, Ontario, and many people explore the area by foot. Still, you'll want a car to get around, especially if you have little ones in tow -- the area is very hilly.

For Mom and Dad
Reserve dinner at Casa Vostra, located less than a mile from the hotel. The restaurant isn't fancy, but the food is fantastic, with authentic Italian dishes on the menu.
