Arrived after traveling from Portland headed to Island Park. Front desk employees were sitting on chairs behind the desk talking back and forth about who was going to get up to check us in. We were never welcomed or really ever engaged with except to ask for our credit card and ID as well as confirming our personal information and vehicle we were driving. Once we got our keys Ali (if I remember her name right) pointed to the restaurant offered inside the hotel and gave us the hours for breakfast and noted it "wasn't a free offer" also letting us know dinner was available. Both gals presented themselves and the newly remodeled hotel poorly and both appeared lazy, unprofessional and overall not happy about being there. Plus their appearance was sloppy and somewhat dirty. As we headed to the elevator we stopped to checkout the hotel restaurant specials. To our surprise we were greeted by a sweet smile welcoming us. Nikki stood out and really shined. After going over the specials and a couple entree options we told her we might be back. She informed us she would be open till 10pm and it would be a privilege to serve us. Our room was clean and the bed was comfortable. We eventually made our way back down to the restaurant, Dukes Grill and our experience was turned around. Nikki served my husband the Steak Oscar special and I had the Flat Iron special. We shared a bottle of Red Wine and for dessert we had the apple crisp she recommended. When Nikki served us the dessert she asked if she could bring us a cup of coffee or a cold glass of milk which we thought was so sweet. The ambience was nice, food was delicious, prices were fair but the service we were provided after our experience checking in was excellent. Our server ran circles around the young man working with her and she presented herself very well put together, knowledgeable and extremely accommodating. She represented everything you offer and we will be back because she made us feel like family.

Due to botched reservations we were rebooked here. Happy to say!! After 11 hours of driving and the nightmare at the original hotel mess. This was so welcomed. Cool friendly and very ni e room. Will stay again and highly recommend.
