The breakfast was OK if you like biscuits and gravy in the lobby. I don't. Also the TV was on the wall behind the food counter and turned very low. Why bother? The shower controls were a challenge. The view of the dam was nice. We went to the restaurant for dinner. One server and sixteen people in front of us. We left after twenty minutes and went to the Rivertap Pub downtown and had a wonderful time. The Shilo is like other Shilo hotels: dated and a bit dirty. But the location was good if you are on the road.

The staff is great but the rooms have a lot to be desired. No carpet, the room smelled odd and we purchased air freshner to make the room smell better. If there is more than one person the bathroom had little to no space to lay out basic toiletries. The blow drier was not working. The bed was not stable and with basic movements would squeak. In all not a good place to stay.
