I'm sitting writing this overlooking a deserted pool, coffee in hand. Originally we planned only to stay 1 night but were so charmed that we're now staying for 5! As previous reviews have mentioned, if you want sparkling, new, sterile accommodation then this isn't for you. It's full of old worlde charm and character and is perfect for us. The apartment/cottage is spacious and clean and it's comfortable and homely. A few steps from the door and you can be sitting around the pool. No lifts and bare corridors to contend with. The apartments come with a full kitchen and reasonable amounts of dishes, crockery, pans so if you want to rustle up a meal you can. Housekeeping will service if you need them to but if you're like us and will happily make you're own bed, they'll provide whatever fresh towels etc you might need and leave you in peace. The owner very kindly gave me sufficient powder for 2 laundry washes; no charge to save buying what I wasn't going to use. Management are around during the day but unobtrusive and eager to help when needed. I can't comment on what it would be like during the summer but here in November it's quiet, peaceful and just exactly what we wanted. The a/c units are a little noisy but that honestly is the only concern. It's within walking distance of the beach, maybe a 10 minute stroll and beach chairs, towels are provided if you need them. There are numerous shops, bars, restaurants all within walking distance and larger supermarkets 10/15 minutes in the car. We've stayed in many hotels during our 2 weeks in America. Some good, some not so good and one particularly appalling. I've had 2 that I've loved and this is 1 of them. If you like charm and character then this is for you. If you want waitress service and sparkling brand new it won't be so best go elsewhere or you'll leave a bad review which will be totally undeserved. If we're ever in Vero Beach again, this lovely little place would be my first choice.
