Located on the East Coast of Florida, this Ponte Vedra resort is situated less than 40 minutes from St. Augustine and 30 minutes from Jacksonville. The Sawgrass Marriott is by no means an “average” Marriott hotel. Families will immediately notice the difference upon entering the large, bright and open lobby that looks out over the resort’s lagoon. The expansive resort features numerous activities for families with its multiple swimming pools, lawn games, 18-hole putting green, bike rentals and wave simulator.

The Cabana Beach Club is a short, free shuttle ride away and is an easy place to spend the day in the sand with additional amenities like pools, changing rooms and restaurants all overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. The prime proximity to the championship TPC Sawgrass golf course is ideal for the golf enthusiast in the family, too.

Families have several accommodation options when staying at the Sawgrass Marriott. Guestrooms, premium wing rooms with upgraded amenities and multiple bedroom villas are all options at Sawgrass, and none of them will disappoint.

There are a plethora of dining options, as well, on the resort property, at the resort’s Cabana Beach Club and even more off the hotel property only a short walk away. Seafood, a sports grille, outdoor lagoon dining and beach cafes are all options for families to enjoy.

The Sawgrass Marriott features 514 guestrooms, 51 suites and 162 villas so there is plenty of room for everyone. Enhanced Wi-Fi access can be found in all of the guestrooms and is included in the resort fee. Cribs and rollaway beds are available upon request.

Guestrooms
The spacious guestrooms feature one king or two double beds and a sitting area with a corner sofa and mini-fridge. The bathroom includes a shower/tub combination. Connecting rooms are available.

Suites
The suites feature one king or two double beds and a sleeper sofa in a separate sitting area. Two televisions can be found, along with a patio or balcony. The suites do not offer a bathtub in the bathrooms. Connecting rooms are available.

Premium Wing
Guestrooms and suites located on the resort's Premium Wing feature hardwood floors, one king or two double platform beds, a large corner sofa, mini-fridge, two complimentary bottles of water each day and a stand-up shower in the bathroom. Connecting rooms are also available.

Premium guestrooms and suites also include access to the Premium Lounge just down the hall from the rooms. The lounge features complimentary cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages and high-end snacks. Families can watch a movie on the large flat-screen television or have the concierge make dinner reservations or tee times for you. Plus, a $20 hotel credit can be used anywhere at the resort when booking a stay in one of these exclusive rooms.

Villas
Situated on the opposite side of the lagoon, the spacious one- or two-bedroom villas are ideal for family stays at Sawgrass. One or two double beds are featured in the Villas, along with a spacious living room with a sleeper sofa and a kitchenette with a mini-fridge, microwave and dish and glassware. A small dining table can also be found. Lagoon views from the patio or balcony are not to be missed either. The two-bedroom villa features three televisions and a stand-up shower in the master bedroom, along with a bathtub in the second bathroom. Parking immediately outside your villa is also available and daily housekeeping is included with the Villas.

Pools
Two large pools are located next to each other near the lagoon and one is heated. A small kiddie pool can also be found. Numerous lounge chairs and umbrellas surround both pool decks. Pool towels are provided at the Recreation Desk, which is situated between the two pools. The pools are open until 10 p.m. and there is no lifeguard on duty.

Surf Stream
Located near the pool area and closer to the first floor Premium Wing guestrooms, Surf Stream is a big hit with kids of all ages as everyone will enjoy riding the waves. An additional fee is expected for Surf Stream, as well as designated operating hours.

Cabana Beach Club
The white sandy Florida beach is a little more than a mile away from the hotel. Families can hop aboard the free shuttle busses (or drive themselves; there is plenty of free parking) nearly any time of the day, and they will transport you to the sand and Atlantic Ocean at the Cabana Beach Club, an extension of the resort. Beach chairs and umbrellas are available for rent at the Beach Club, along with kayaks and paddle boards.

A large heated outdoor pool area, which overlooks the beach, can be found here, as well as a smaller kiddie pool. Lifeguards are on duty in-season. Three restaurants, restrooms and changing rooms can also be found at the Cabana Beach Club. Grab your bathing suit and spend the day at the beach! There is no additional fee to enjoy the Cabana Beach Club.

Golf
An 18-hole putting green can be found nestled under the trees not far from the pool area. Grab a club at the Recreation Desk by the pool or at the front desk and practice your putt. The putting green is lit, so no need to end the game even if the sun has gone down. Right near the putting green is a large deck that surrounds a separate ballroom building, where kids can have a great time fishing from the deck. Just outside Alice & Pet's Pub, guests can try their swing at a replica Island Green Hole -- the floating hole sits in the lagoon and is begging for someone to sink a hole in one!

Games
Located in the grand lobby, families will find Wi-Fi and a few tables set up to play checkers and chess. Outside overlooking the lagoon and just before the pool area, families will fun a small lawn area with Ping-Pong and cornhole games and cozy chairs to sit and relax in.

Bike Rentals
Bike rentals are available for just $10 a day and are perfect for getting around the resort.

Kids Club
The Mighty Oaks Kids' Club is a room filled with fun activities, games, crafts, movies and video games, which can be utilized with the whole family in mind. Parents can accompany their kids under 12 years old in the Mighty Oaks Kids Club. Younger children can enjoy playing with the toys, building blocks or dolls and the teens can have fun hanging at the foosball table or playing Wii. New and fun additions are always being added to the room, located not far from the pool.

A list of additional activities like crafts, pool games, scavenger hunts and sandcastle building are posted on a rotating schedule each week and families are welcome to participate. Some activities require a small additional cost. The Mighty Oaks room is open daily in the summer months and on Saturday and Sunday in the off-season (unless noted otherwise). Be sure to mention that you will be traveling with children and may be interested in the Mighty Oaks when booking your reservation.

There are numerous dining options at the Sawgrass Marriott resort (with even more only a short walk off the property). Families can enjoy resort casual dining both indoors and outdoors for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Veron's
Located just off the hotel lobby, Veron's serves a delicious breakfast and dinner in a casual setting. Overlooking the lagoon, families can enjoy a buffet or made-to-order breakfast or dine for dinner on some of Florida's freshest seafood.

Alice & Pete's Pub
This casual pub spot is open for lunch and dinner from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. daily. Teens will love this restaurant for its multiple televisions often showing the game, shuffleboard and foosball tables, pool table and Golden Tee video game. Overlooking the resort's lagoon, this restaurant features indoor and outdoor seating -- and don't worry you'll miss the game by sitting outside; there are televisions there, as well.

619 Ocean View
Located upstairs at the Cabana Beach Club, this indoor, oceanfront restaurant serves dinner only in a casual setting.

Sea Porch Bar & Grill
Located at the Cabana Beach Club, this oceanfront indoor restaurant serves lunch and dinner in a casual setting.

American Gator Club
Located outside near the pool area, this casual restaurants sits over the lagoon and serves lunch and dinner. Families will love to dine here, as unexpected sea turtle guests are fun to watch for while waiting for your food. The sea turtles are always ready to pop up from the water and say hello (especially if you drop them a treat).

Sharkey's
Located at the Cabana Beach Club, this casual restaurant overlooks the beach and ocean. Open for lunch and dinner, it offers burgers and sandwiches.

Starbucks
A full service Starbucks café, open from 5:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., can be found in the hotel's lobby.

Resort Fee
The one-time resort fee includes two cocktails in the hotel bar, two bottles of water daily, Wi-Fi access, access to the Cabana Beach Club (which includes the shuttle to the Beach Club), access to the fitness center and its many fitness classes, and parking.

Wi-Fi
Enhanced Wi-Fi access can be found throughout the hotel and is included in the resort fee.

Located near the spa, the 24/7 fitness center offers a separate entrance and plenty of cardio and weight machines to stay on top of workouts. Numerous fitness classes, like yoga, spinning and bootcamp, are also available.

Fire Pits

Getting There
Jacksonville International Airport is less than one hour away from the resort. Ponte Vedra is located on the East Coast of Florida along the Atlantic coastline and is about 35 minutes north of St. Augustine.

Getting Around
The resort is easily walkable and families will find it convenient to walk to a nearby shopping district just off the hotel property to find even more restaurant and shopping opportunities.

A convenient free shuttle bus is always waiting to transport guests to the beach (located about 1 mile away) or the golf TPC gold course, which is just down the road from the hotel.

If you prefer to rent your own vehicle, families can find multiple car rental agencies located in the lobby of the hotel.

The expansive spa area features numerous treatments like massage, facials, body scrubs and more. A child's manicure and pedicure can be accommodated with an adult. An adults-only, heated outdoor pool is also located here.

Golf
Golfers will love a chance to play TPC Sawgrass, which features two championship courses: the Stadium Course and Dye's Valley Course. Tee times can be reserved in the Pro Shop located in the lobby.
