This hotel is on the edge of Aguas Calientes where the river flows down. It was a bit of an uphill walk to get to the market, or the bus station from the hotel. There were cute shops and restaurants near by. There is an elevator. The rooms do not have A/C which isn't a problem as it gets cold at night there - however the windows also do NOT have screens. We opened our windows to let some cool air in at night and swarms of bugs came in the room....After we took toilet paper and smashed a bunch of bugs, we decided to only open the window once the lights were off, and then put the window curtain through the window, to create suction and let some air in. This worked decently. The breakfast was pretty large, finding mostly the same items in all of hotels in Peru. The staff was nice and the rooms were clean. They are doing construction next door, so if you are staying a few days I would try to get a room away from that. The check out is early - at 9AM.

This is a wonderful, upscale, tranquil hotel in a quiet part of town overlooking the scenic river. The service was attentive and professional, and the room was peaceful and quiet (assuming that you don’t mind the sound of the river- for us this was a plus). Highly recommended.
