Overview

Skip the traditional hotel route, and choose a one- or two-bedroom cottage overlooking Lake Jolly, Elf Pond and Lake Tannebaum in Santa Claus. Each cottage contains a full kitchen, air conditioning and heat, cable TV, wireless internet, and access to park grills and a fire ring. Family activities include a swimming pool, playground, fishing and more.

Note: Rentals do not include daily housekeeping, clean towel service, or basic kitchen and bath linens. A Linen and Towel Package is available for $25 in one-bedroom cottages and $40 for two-bedroom cottages. If you prefer, you can bring your own sheets, pillow cases, blankets, and bath and kitchen towels.

Not really wheelchair accessible if you are on your own

First thing to remember is this is not a hotel but a cabin. The staff was wonderful, friendly and caring but service is limited. If I wasn't in a wheelchair it would be a fun place to stay. The accessible parking space is 20 feet from the door to the cabin. The door hardware is knobs, not levers meaning I had trouble opening the front door. There is a sill at the front door requiring a small wheelie to get over. Coming out it was very difficult to close the door.
The kitchen is somewhat accessible but you need to bring ground coffee. The beds in the ground floor bedroom are too high for easy transfer from a wheelchair, low-profile box springs that lowered the mattress to 22 inches high would solve the issue. The biggest disappointment was the roll-in shower. It is to bad that however installed the shower did not follow the ADA standards. There is no shower wand and the controls are not accessible from the built-in bench.

Wonderful Place to Stay

We have stayed at Santa's Cottages several times. Our kids love the ponds, playground, and train. The location is fantastic, the beds are comfy, and the cottages are spotless. We highly recommend staying at Santa's Cottages!
