We thought that we were lucky to get the last room. How wrong we were! How did this property rate a 7/10. As we entered this basement apartment we detected an odour that is beyond description; a blend of rotting garbage, mildew and the dank smell of wood that has been left to absorb the excess humidity. This last contribution more evident to us given the dehumidifier that sits in the middle of the room. The machine turned itself off in the middle of the night, the water having filled the tank. The bed however did provide some comic relief as I continued to roll into the centre which presented itself like an inviting cavern. This could not be described as a firm mattress providing one a good night’s sleep. I was up at 4am having slept on top of the sheets not wanting my body any closer to the mattress than needed. This was truly a disgusting experience.

The room was NOT clean. Starting with the bathroom - the toilet was covered in dust and pee stains, the shower was dirty (there was soap scum on the shelves), the sink and the old hand wash pump were not cleaned. The kitchenette area - the microwave had food bits and splashes, the cupboard doors were dirty and the floor was not cleaned - it was sticky and the bottoms of my feet were dirty after walking on it. Based on the other reviews, its pretty obvious that this was not an oversight but that the owners/manager feel like they don't need to clean the rooms after each guest, which is ridiculous and unacceptable. Not worth the money we paid to stay here.
