The room, when it becomes available, was a dogbox. Small, dark and unwelcoming.
The 'breakfast' was disgraceful. Served in the same, back-to-the-nineties bar. My wife had to spread a napkin out on the chair before she sat down. It was disgusting.
There were no options for anyone with any ideas of healthy eating. Porridge? No. Muesli? No. Yoghurt, granola, bran? That would be a no. Eggs? Yes! Tepid scrambled eggs. Other varities? Boiled, poached, fried? No. Bacon. That's a no. But TWO cannisters of pressurized whipping cream if you'd like that. Fruit? Yes, tired apples or oranges sitting in the same fruit bowl day after day. One of the delightful staff (and yes, the staff are uniformly delightful and as helpful as their appalling employer allows them to be) offered (and did) to fetch a banana from 'out back'.
I tried one of the bottles of gelatinous, chemically sweetened 'probiotics' on offer. Spoon? No. But they did 'fetch one from out back' where the spoons keep company with the bananas.
Awful, awful, awful.
