The Sanctuary is a luxury 255-room hotel nestled among the dunes of Kiawah Island, just outside of Charleston, South Carolina. Of the hotel’s stylish rooms and suites, guests have many options in which to choose. The most traditional of offerings are standard guestrooms with a king or two queen beds with partial to full ocean views from private balconies, some of which are club level rooms with a lounge providing continental breakfast, light lunch, evening hors d’oeuvres and drinks. Suites are also available with garden and ocean views, as well as oceanfront options. Suites feature living rooms with a sleeper sofa and dining areas, with bedrooms offering a king bed. Many can be connected to guestrooms with two queen beds to create a two-bedroom option that sleeps up to eight family members.
The Sanctuary is located right on the beach, with two outdoor swimming pools creating a true resort getaway. An indoor swimming pool is also available. Families have 11 restaurants on the entire Kiawah Island Golf Resort, with the Sanctuary home to the Ocean Room, the 4-star steakhouse that provides nightly upscale dinner. Near the outdoor pools is the Loggerhead Grill for casual poolside dining during lunch and dinner. Jasmine Porch is the hotel’s all-day restaurant with breakfast, lunch and dinner featuring lowcountry seafood dishes. The hotel is also home to Beaches & Creame, a sweets shop with grab-an- go breakfast and lunch items, as well as ice cream and pastries.

The best soul food my heart could ask for. For starters the bread basket with the honey butter and the pimento cheese Is amazing . The shrimp and grits are the perfect blend of savory and spicy. The chicken salad on croissant was the perfect for light eaters. Whatever you do make sure to come hungry, because you will be leaving full. Ambiance was sweet and staff were very attentive and knowledgeable.

I’ve been to this hotel several times and loved it each time I’ve been. This time the property has undergone a renovation and the beautiful rooms have been refreshed. One of the nicest room products of any property I’ve stayed at. Ocean front room with stunning views of the ocean from the balcony. Service has been amazing. From our arrival greeting from Emory to our bellman, Chris, everything has been perfect. A very engaging staff who truly deliver southern hospitality.
