Stayed at the SFMFH for one night in October with my family. We chose this location to be close to the tourist sites (fisherman's wharf, etc) and the location was great. Parking is expensive, and I don't recall seeing that on the reservation page, but be aware, its SF and parking is expensive.
I had called the hotel earlier to ask for two adjoining room since this was going to be the first trip we were on where my daughter was going to be old enough to have her own room (and we wanted our own privacy). After two different calls, I was under the impression that we would have two adjoining rooms with the internal doors between the rooms However when we checked in, this was not the case. They gave us two adjoining rooms, but without the internal connection. I was not happy, I voiced my frustration and my concerns. The manager, Brian, came over, did a great job at soothing me and said he could not give us two connecting rooms, although they were adjoining. He seemed truly apologetic and not only waived some of the ancillary costs of our stay, but provided drinks at the bar and had a very nice cheese and cookie plate sent to our room. While it wasn't perfect, it also wasn't his fault, and he really did his best to make us feel valued.

We very much enjoyed our stay here during a recent weekend getaway. The rooms are clean and well-appointed. Staff was all very friendly, efficient and courteous. Our late evening dinner and breakfast at their Red Fin restaurant was enjoyable as well (small menu, but good food and bar menu. Not as many amenities as larger Marriott properties downtown, but definitely a nice option for a stay in the City.
