The hotel is in a perfect location - close to shops, restaurants, and most importantly the Keihan Sanjo station (if you bought the Kyoto sightseeing pass this is crucial). The hotel is modern, clean, comfortable and the room is surprisingly quite large for a Japan hotel (compared to our Tokyo room which we paid similar price).
There are reasonably priced restaurants around the area. Right opposite is a pharmacy and next door there is a supermarket. The bus stop is 1 min away and the popular Nishiki market is only around 10mins walk.
The hotel staff were really friendly too, helped us keep our luggage before we could check in. And also after we checked out they helped us too. Highly recommended.

Within walking distance of the North East temples in the middle of hundreds of restaurants and shops subway station close well you are at the center of the action modern hotel clean a little worn out but very comfortable and efficient. Excellent breakfast in the basement and a good bar at reception level. Certainly not fancy but a very good buy for the price
