Pre-booked and pre-paid for 5 nights at end of September. The lack of facilities turned a 5 star luxury stay into a 1 star misery. Restaurants, lounges and bars closed. No room service. Minimal room make up/cleaning. No concierge services. No cleaning of common parts. Waking up every day to chanting, drum banging and horn blowing pickets. Having to cross picket lines going in and out of hotel.
The hotel offered to give us another room but explained this would make little difference to disturbance and would not be as large as the room we’d booked.
No attempt to offer refund and help us find an alternative hotel.
Management staff members on duty were polite but could only offer bland “we’re sorry” statements. No recognition that that they were offering only a tiny part of the facilities and quality we had paid for.
I cannot comment on the rights and wrongs of the strike. But what I saw of the management’s ethics, competence and honesty, leads me to suspect that right is on the side of the strikers.

Stayed 5 nights for my sons Wedding, everything was perfect, great location close to shops and restaurants, walkable to Stanley Park and close to Canada Place. Good size rooms for a city centre hotel, excellent staff and service throughout, worth the extra cost....
