The Riverview B&B is on a quiet stretch of the Copper River, surrounded by trees and offering stunning views of the distant mountains. Ideal for a family are the detached cabins, which hold a king bed and two twins, and also come equipped with a small refrigerator, microwave, and free Wi-Fi. You’ll love sitting on the front porch of your cabin staring out at the flowing river. The owner is a master gardener, and his handiwork is obvious all over the grounds of the B&B. He’s also a great cook, serving up a hearty homemade breakfast of blueberry pancakes, caribou sausage, eggs and fruit from his garden. There’s a spacious communal area with a TV, DVD player and fitness equipment for you to enjoy after a long day of outdoor activities.
The B&B is located a few miles off the Richardson Highway in the tiny town of Gakona. The larger hub of Glennallen is 20 miles away, where you’ll find restaurants and a grocery store. There’s also a highly recommended restaurant in a historic lodge just a mile from the B&B. You’re close to five major recreational rivers, world famous for the quality of salmon to be caught in their waters. You won’t have to go far to find a prime fishing spot. The visitor’s center to the Wrangell-St. Elias National Park is nearby, where you can view wildlife, hike endless trails or tour an old ghost town.
