Overview
by Julie Bielenberg
This is a historic building in downtown built at the turn of the century. It has six guest suites. There is also an additional two-bedroom guesthouse to rent on the property. There are five irrigated acres of landscape, updated kitchen for use, private pond and event private riverfront access on the Arkansas. The current owner did a thorough updating in 2006. In the uppermost level, a unique bunkroom has been developed with separate beds for 12 and a private bathroom. This is a bonus and is not included in the bedroom count. The result is a lodge that accommodates larger groups quite readily.

We had a great time this past weekend with river runners and our awesome guides Nicky and Mark that helped make our experience fabulous. We rafted the Arkansas river started at “the Numbers” camped at the “the zoo” and ended and “lower browns canyon” for a total of 33 Miles rafted. This trip is definitely not for the faint of heart, it’s for the adventurous friends that want to have a great weekend of fun! River runners did a great job accommodating the dietary needs of our group And made sure everyone was well attended to... can’t wait to do it again!! Thanks Nicky and Mark for a great trip!

My wife and I stayed at this B&B and just loved it. The rooms are beautifully restored and very clean. The location next to the Arkansas River is just gorgeous with the mountains just to the west.
Setting just outside Salida a few minutes away there are several places to shop and dine. Or head north to Buena Vista.
