I understand the four gentlemen who own The River Inn travelled the world to get ideas. It worked. The Inn has an earthy warmth, fine decor from the lobby to the rooms and even in between: when you exit the elevator you are face with a library reading area with two cozy chairs on each floor. Lots of thoughtful touches throughout.

Stayed for 2 nights on our way back to Atlanta. We could have stayed for extra nights to enjoy the services the hotel provides as well as the scenery in Mud islands where this beautiful hotel ! Our room is overlooking the Mississippi River.
The room is elegantly decorated and cosy with 4 poster bed.
The concierge staff are so polite and helpful. I left the electric toothbrush charger in New Orleans hotel. I asked the male staff at the reception if they happen to have one that could have been left by previous guests. To my surprise he asked me to give him 5 minutes as he will cross to the opposite site to enquire from housekeeping service. However I couldn’t remember his name. I’m very grateful for the rescue!
There is a good range of delicious and fresh breakfast to choose from. Staff are accommodating as I like hot milk with my coffee.
The nightcap was a surprise gesture that my husband totally enjoyed.
I highly recommend this hotel if you want excellent service, peaceful rest as well as accessibility to places of interests in Memphis..
